The Gillmor Gang? Those people filled my several-hour car commutes across Europe with Silicon Valley insight and emotion - until it all went silent on Thanksgiving 2006...
Now I hear Michael Arrington shouting: "Steve's back!"
In Stan Gillmor's own words: "To be clear, this will not be a resumption of The Gillmor Gang; the reasons the show was stopped remain in force. But fundamentally The Gang was a representation of a conversation I’ve been a part of for years and one that continues as we speak. [...] the same people who loved the Gang like the new show, and the rest, well, they can just keep moving. The issues that permeated the Gang also remain, but the economics of the time seem to have erased a lot of the dynamic tension that used to resonate between Vizard and Farber, between Hugh and Doc, between Arrington and Nick Carr, between Jason and… Jason. That was one big reason the Gang went dark; everybody stopped laughing about [Note of the Red Fez: Microsoft] Office being dead because it became so obvious even Scoble had to admit it. I kid because somebody has to do it."

Last year, Jason destroyed the show, IMHO. He seemed to take away Steve's confidence. This year, he's starting out silly and irrelevant. Only Doc seems to be able to handle him.
I believe it's Dana, who, seems to me, from the beginning to have always been exasperated by Jason's grand-standing.
Jason is a difficult personality to appreciate. I'd rather he wasn't on the show. At the same time, I do appreciate what he has to say in other forums. I've followed his thought for 10 years. On the WWAC list in the 90's, besides being over-amped with self-righteous tendencies, he freely offered a lot of valuable insight.
I had a brief opportunity to tell him that in person and I do like him as a guy. He was kind to me and my wife.
All I know is, the show was better without him and I got more from the other Gang members, esp. Steve, Doc and Arrington, than I have from him on the show.
